In this unit you have learned that some consonant sounds need more care than others when spelling them:

Think back - help with spelling rules
  • /v/ can be spelled v or ve
  • A savvy speller will not use a double v in the vast majority of words
  • When you hear /kw/ sound, you spell it qu. The exceptions to this are very rare.
