Spelling list: Words ending in age

The /ij/ sound on the end of a word is usually spelled age - but take care: this list contains two rule-breakers !

sausage	The sausage sizzled in the pan.
shortage	After the earthquake there was a shortage of fresh water.
storage	My new computer has much more storage space.
village	The doctor's practice was on the edge of the village. *
advantage	The home team had the advantage.
average	The teacher calculated the average test score for the class.
knowledge	Bill has an extensive knowledge of history.
