Did you know there are over a million word lists on Spellzone? Every word list can be used in a variety of online and offline activities – learn more about them here.

Here are 3 word lists to try in September:

  1. Words ending in ctor

This month’s spelling pattern is 'ctor' endings

After the letters 'ct', many words use 'or' to spell the weak vowel ending. Learn about ctor words in Unit 25 and practise spelling them in this word list.

  2. Education - Places

September means back to school and to celebrate we’ve chosen education as this month’s Word for Wednesday theme. Over the next few weeks we’ll look at the words pupil, semester, exam, teacher, and uniform. Why not try this education-themed word list in a spelling game?

  3. Roald Dahl Day

September 13th marks Roald Dahl Story Day an event dedicated to celebrating a man whose stories have frightened and delighted children and adults alike since the 1940s. To celebrate, we’ve created a word list of words invented by the children’s author himself. How many of these words do you recognise?
