  1. 10 Words for Funny

    …Amusing?

    …Hilarious?

    …Witty?

In our 10 Words blog posts, we share 10 alternatives to a common word to help you expand your vocabulary. Did you know each blog post also includes a word list so that you can practise using the words in context?

  2. ie and ei words: rulebreakers

‘I before E except after C’ is one of the most famous English spelling rules, but does it always work?

Like all spelling rules, it has its exceptions.

Don’t get caught out – test yourself on ie and ei rulebreakers here, and learn more in Unit 21

  3. Colours

Regular readers of our blog will know that earlier this year we looked at the word origins of different colours as part of our Word for Wednesday feature. Practise spelling basic colours here, or – if you're in the mood for a challenge –  try spelling these more complex colours here.

"Thank goodness for Spellzone during this remote learning phase. The site is easy for students to navigate independently and they're really enjoying the activities and spelling games. You get an awful lot for your money with Spellzone. Really reassuring is the very prompt response with helpdesk queries. I've very rarely needed the helpdesk, but when I have, the issue has been addressed and sorted within a very short time."
